Ben'Imana at NBO Film Festival
Rwanda's Cannes Caméra d'Or winner, the country's first Oscar entry, screens at Prestige Cinemas during the NBO Film Festival.

About the event
Ben'Imana is the first feature by Rwandan director Marie-Clémentine Dusabejambo. Set in 2012, eighteen years after the genocide against the Tutsi, it follows Vénéranda, who supports survivors and the families of perpetrators as they attempt a difficult dialogue.
It premiered in Cannes' Un Certain Regard section in May 2026, where it won the Caméra d'Or and the FIPRESCI prize. Isabelle Kabano, Clémentine U. Nyirinkindi and Kesia Kelly Nishimwe are in the cast.
On 8 October 2026 the film's distributor announced it as Rwanda's first-ever entry in the Oscars' international feature category. The Mookh ticket page lists this screening at KES 1,500; a second screening on 16 October at Unseen Nairobi is KES 1,000.
