About the event

The Wisdom of Seeds is the second edition of Brikicho, an annual programme run by African Art Agenda. This year it turns to spatial research, design and architecture. The 9 October event is an exhibition and open laboratory at the Kamene art residency in Nairobi, running from 5 to 9pm.

Visitors are invited in as co-researchers around three themes. The African Precedent looks at how traditional spatial knowledge could shape design teaching. Who Shapes Built Space asks about power and access in the continent's built environment. On Craft makes the case for the handmade, the 'thinking hand' of the master artisan, in contemporary architecture.

The event is aimed at built-environment professionals and the wider ecosystem. Space is limited, so it is strictly RSVP, and requests need host approval.
