Arts & culture in Nairobi and East Africa Theatre & dance
Guerrier (KITFest, Canada)
A Canadian multimedia interactive theatre experience that draws on Kenyan iconography and Afrofuturist aesthetics, on 7 November.
About the event
Guerrier is billed as an original multimedia interactive theatre experience that blends live performance, animation, video and audience participation. Evoking the hero's journey, participants take a symbolic passage guided by resilience, the 'warrior's spirit', and collaborate on visually rich puzzles designed to foster cooperation, unity and synchronicity.
Infused with Afrofuturistic aesthetics and Kenyan iconography, it draws from Kenya's ancestral legacy to reimagine cultural symbolism for the modern era. TheatreKE lists Canada as its origin. It plays at the Kenya National Theatre during KITFest 2026.
