Kenya's public day senior schools charge no fees; boarding capped at KSh 53,554

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba gazetted a fee structure on 6 February 2026 under which public day senior schools charge families nothing and boarding is capped at KSh 53,554 a year, Capital FM and The Star reported. The KJSEA for Grade 9 learners runs 26 to 30 October 2026.
