Leaving Kenya for months: will my number and M-Pesa be recycled, and how do I keep them?
A Kenyan line can be recycled only after three months with no calls, SMS, data or top-ups and three more months of notices, and using it once stops the process, under Communications Authority rules in force since 19 September 2026. M-Pesa is separate: Safaricom's terms provide for an account to be suspended once its SIM has been inactive for 90 days, TechTrendsKE reported.
