European Union Film Festival Addis Ababa 2026
A month of free screenings of 27 European films with director Q&As and masterclasses, opening 23 October.
About the event
The festival screens 27 European award-winning films and a number of Ethiopian short films, with workshops and masterclasses by film professionals and Q&A sessions with directors and producers. It opens on 23 October with The Banshees of Inisherin and closes on 21 November with Sentimental Value.
The first weekend includes Un Anno di Scuola (24 October, 16:00), Wax & Gold with a Q&A with the director (24 October, 18:00), Sorda / Deaf (25 October, 16:00) and Quasi Grazia with a masterclass by the producer (25 October, 18:00). Later weekends (6-8, 13-15 and 20-21 November) bring titles from Armenia, Malta, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Ukraine, Denmark, Luxembourg, Ireland, Belgium, Latvia, Sweden, Poland, Finland and Norway.
