About the event

Mothers' Patterns 2 is a women's group exhibition brought to the Village Market rooftop gallery by the Village Well Arts Community of Kampala. Its tagline is 'knitting identity, confidence, and opportunity through the hands of our mothers'.

The poster shows women from the group with large, brightly coloured textile pictures of village scenes, trees and figures, made by hand. The show features the Ugandan painter Muramuzi JohnBosco, whose crowded rural-and-city scenes have been shown at Village Market before; he has said his style grew out of watching his mother weave.

The exhibition runs from 7 October to 2 November.
