Arts & culture in Nairobi and East Africa Exhibition On now
The Great Repair
A travelling exhibition on repair, reworked with Nairobi platform munyu as 'The Great Repair: umunyu', with a public programme of talks, workshops and screenings.
About the event
The Great Repair: umunyu is the first presentation of The Great Repair on the African continent, after Berlin, Paris and Malmö. ARCH+ and munyu rework the project through its Nairobi context around 'umunyu', understood as an ongoing practice of sustaining, adapting and renewing rather than restoring something to an original state.
Participants named on the project page for the Nairobi edition include Limbo Accra, Omi Collective, Mogasam, Kader Attia, and Atelier Bow-Wow & Tsukamoto Laboratory. The 2025-2026 University of Nairobi Bachelor of Architecture 5th Year Studio also takes part.
A public programme, 'Umunyu: Acts of Repair', runs alongside the exhibition with talks, workshops, excursions, performances and screenings.
