TradeMark Africa official expects Kenyan exports to Uganda to fall as Ugandan shilling weakens
A weaker Ugandan shilling is likely to cut Kenya's manufactured exports to Uganda, TradeMark Africa's Abhishek Sharma said, as quoted by Business Daily on 20 October 2026. Uganda bought KSh 162.4 billion of Kenyan goods in 2025. The shilling fell to a low of UGX 4,240 to the US dollar, and the Bank of Uganda raised its policy rate to 12% on 14 October.
