Kenya's HELB would be replaced by a new funding authority if MPs pass tertiary funding Bill
The Tertiary Education, Placement and Funding Bill, 2026, first read in Kenya's National Assembly on 11 August, would repeal the HELB Act and merge three funding bodies into one; the Education Committee's public hearings ended on 2 October and the Bill is not law.
